Examples include radio & television broadcasts, commercials and jingles, motion picture & video scores & soundtracks, corporate & training presentations, websites, social media, computer games, software applications & multimedia. The simple answer is “No”. Our pricing and subscription rates take into account all uses of the Sounds – including TV, Radio and Film. However, if your production is broadcast or publicly performed (on radio, TV, in a film or on stage) and includes our music, we ask that you send a Cue Sheet to your local performing rights society. This depends on where you live. In most cases, the producer of a production is not required to pay performing rights fees. The theater, radio station and TV station that broadcasts or hosts the public performance of the production must have a license with their local performance rights association and must pay licensing fees. This may vary by country and is a matter to take up with your local performing rights society if you regularly use music in your productions.

Yes. As long as you synchronize the Sounds within your production, there are no limits to the number of times you may use our music, the number of productions that you create, the number of copies of the production that you make, or where in the world you distribute with an active subscription.

Yes. If you make a production for a client, the rights and limitations to AudioHero's synchronized audio content (as outlined in our End User License Agreement) are in effect for the life of the production, and they pass automatically to the end user of the production (your client).

No. When you make a purchase at AudioHero.com, you are purchasing a synchronization license for use of our music, not the copyright to the music itself. AudioHero.com retains all copyright in its music, sound effects and production elements.

The videos or productions that are created while having an active subscription are licensed in perpetuity even if you eventually cancel your subscription. The content you download from Audio Hero is not licensed for any type of use with an inactive subscription.

Content creators use the YouTube Content ID system to easily identify and manage their copyrighted content on YouTube. All videos uploaded to YouTube are compared against audio and video files registered with Content ID by content owners, looking for any matches.

YouTube may not be aware that you are licensed to use the audio track, therefore they put a copyright claim against your video until either the copyright holder whitelists your video or you can prove that you are licensed to use the track.

1. We recommend that you first file a dispute on YouTube and state that you purchased the audio from Audio Hero.
2. When submitting the dispute, please include a direct link from Audio Hero of the music that has received the claim. The link should look like this (only with different numbers at the end): https://download.audiohero.com/#!details? id=13444957
3. If the dispute does not get dropped within 24 hours we recommend then you email us at support@audiohero.com and provide us with a screenshot of the copyright claim, a link to your video, and the name of the track that received the claim. We will contact the company directly that placed a claim on your video and request that they remove it.

To submit a dispute:

1- Sign in to your YouTube account
2- In the top right, click on your account icon -> Select ‘Creator Studio’
3- On the left, click ‘Video Manager’ -> Select ‘Copyright Notices’
4- Select the video where you wish to dispute the claim
5- You have a choice – Either ‘Acknowledge’ or ‘Dispute’ the claim
6- Click on the ‘Dispute’ button
7-Specify that you have a license or written permission from the copyright owner to use the music and click on the ‘Continue’ button
8- Acknowledge that you do have the proper license and want to dispute the claim and click the ‘Continue’ button
9- Under ‘Reason for Dispute’, enter in the track name/title and that you have the proper licensing through Audio Hero (www.audiohero.com)
10- Type your full name to serve as your electronic signature and submit the dispute

There is no limit on the number of channels as long as they are your channels or channels of your clients.

It refers to music and works that are not protected by intellectual property laws such as copyright, trademark or patent laws. The public owns these works, not an individual artist or author. Anyone can use public domain music tracks without permission, but no one can ever own them. Copyright laws can protect musical compositions up to 70 years after a composer’s death, then becomes public domain. Another way a piece of music becomes public domain is when the author releases it to the public themselves.

Many companies and artists may produce new recordings of original works in the public domain (this is common with classical music). These companies and artists own their recordings and may register them on YouTube or other online platforms.

Log into your account and click on your name that is located on the top right of the screen. Scroll down to the second last tab on the left side of the screen that is “Manage Account”. Click on the tab and there you will see an option to change your password.

If you have lost your password, you will need to select the “Forgot Password” option on the log in page. Once there, you will need to provide us with your email and we will send you a temporary password to log in to your account. Yes. Log into your account and click on your name that is located on the top right of the screen. Scroll down to the second last tab on the left side of the screen that is “Manage Account”. Click on the tab and there you will see an option to change your email address. You may be asked to enter Secure Mode when you do this. It is just another safeguard in place for the security of your information.

Yes. Many of our compositions are offered in several different versions or lengths: a full length version, an underscore or rhythm track version (for more subtle use under voiceovers), and a variety of different broadcast lengths (60 seconds, 30 seconds and 5 to 15 second stingers). The broadcast versions are produced to eliminate the need for the user to create his own edits for specific kinds of production applications (like commercial spots).

All of our audio files (music tracks, sound effects and production elements) can be purchased as 16 bit / 44.1 kHz Broadcast wav files, or as 320 kbit mp3 files. Your purchase of a track allows you to download either or both formats, as many times as you wish.

You can print an invoice at any time. Log in to your account, click on your username in the top right of the screen and a menu will appear. Select the Dashboard option of your account and click in to the History tab. You will be able to select the transaction/invoice to print from there.

New content is added to AudioHero.com throughout the year.

When you started the download process, a dialog box popped open on your computer screen. If you did not change the settings, the music files should now be on your computer desktop. If they are not there, your computer may be set up to store all downloaded files in a Received Files folder or it may recognize the audio files as music and place them in a My Music folder. If you still can't find the files in any of these locations, don't worry. All music that you purchase from AudioHero.com is available for you to download again as many times as you need to, as long as you have an active account. You can change the location you want to save the downloads to in the dialog box when it appears or you can change your browser preferences.

Stock Music, also commonly known as Production Music, is a less expensive alternative to the use of popular or well known music in a production. With Stock Music, it is not necessary to obtain specific permission or pay additional clearance fees for the use of a song.

Stock Music is written and recorded specifically for use in audio and audio visual productions. It is affordable, readily available and covers a broad spectrum of musical styles and genres.

Royalty free music – also called Buyout Music – is a specific kind of Stock Music that allows the user to pay one upfront fee to purchase unlimited lifetime synchronization rights to the music, but which does not include exclusive use of the music or the ownership/copyright of the music.

Musical Elements are short musical melodies, chord sequences or solo instrument clips that are often used to introduce or close a presentation, provide transition sequences or provide a backdrop for a voiceover.

A Production Element is an audio clip that is used to sweeten or enhance a recorded production, usually for radio broadcast intros, promos, transitions and attention getters.

A Sound Effect is a single isolated recording of an identifiable object (like an airplane or a person coughing) that can range in length from a heartbeat to several minutes.

Synchronization is the term that describes the way in which Sounds are used in productions. A sound can be synchronized within a visual presentation (the sound of a dramatic film score timed to be heard as movie credits roll), or with other audio material such as a voiceover - as in the case of a radio commercial. Sounds can be synchronized for use in many media: television, radio, film, multimedia and audio-visual presentations, websites, computer games and music. From the time a piece of music is created, it is protected by copyright. Once a piece of music has existed beyond the copyright protection period, that piece of music is considered to be in the Public Domain. The international laws governing copyright are the Berne Convention and the Universal Copyright Convention. Under the Berne Convention, copyright extends for the life of the composer plus a minimum of 50 years following his or her death. Most of the world's industrial countries have signed the Berne Convention and comply with it - although all countries have their own copyright laws which may extend the copyright period for an additional number of years. In fact, many countries have extended this copyright term to a period of 75 years following the death of the composer. If you are intending to use a piece of music that is in the Public Domain, make sure that you check the Copyright Laws in all countries where the production will be used to make sure that your use conforms to the laws of those countries.
